OVERLIFT ARCHITECTURE · LOCAL-FIRST + EDGE AI

Keep private context and useful intelligence close. Use remote capability deliberately.

Local-first is not a slogan and it is not a ban on cloud services. It is a product architecture: private state, immediate interaction, qualified inference, offline continuity, minimized egress, explicit sync, device-tier admission, receipts, and recovery all have named owners.

THE EXECUTION RESIDENCY CONTRACT

Where code runs is a capability decision—not an authority transfer.

Every path declares its data, device tier, latency budget, network need, privacy purpose, fallback, synchronization rule, and recovery receipt. A local model does not become truth authority merely because it runs privately; a remote service does not become product authority merely because it is powerful.

01 · STATE

Local authoritative context

Keep private profiles, learner history, accepted revisions, chart inputs, research notes, and current user intent in explicit local stores where the product contract permits.

02 · INTELLIGENCE

Qualified local inference

Use exact, lexical, graph, C17/WebAssembly, compact embeddings, classifiers, deterministic fusion, and Q-Lens paths according to the real device tier.

03 · REMOTE

Purpose-bound capability

Send only the fields required for a declared public refresh, user-requested rewrite, provider action, or source acquisition. Keep private context out unless the user deliberately authorizes it.

04 · SYNC

Reconciliation, not overwrite

Identity, version, time, rights, conflicts, canonical IDs, migrations, and postconditions govern every update. Historical receipts remain historical truth.

05 · DEVICE

Tiered product behavior

Capability profiles disclose what the browser can run. Fallback changes speed, model size, or presentation—not evidence, doctrine, consent, or accepted state.

06 · RECOVERY

Offline continuity and repair

Service-worker restart, asset eviction, GPU loss, storage contention, model corruption, and interrupted sync have bounded detection, quarantine, rehydration, rollback, and replay paths.

LOCAL-FIRST + EDGE AUTHORITY LAB

What should stay on the device, what may leave, and what must remain authoritative?

Inspect eight deterministic cases across Veluris, the Agentic AI Glossary & Learning Center, Veil, Vellucent, Saros, and the shared OverLift runtime. Each case separates useful local intelligence, optional remote capability, protected state, synchronization, fallback, and recovery.

01Probe

Detect the real device, storage, network, model, worker, and GPU capability before choosing a path.

02Minimize

Keep private context local and send only purpose-bound fields when a remote capability is genuinely needed.

03Reconcile

Treat sync and updates as candidate states with identity, version, time, conflict, and migration checks.

04Recover

Fallback may change speed or presentation. It may not change evidence, doctrine, consent, or accepted state.

Loading the local-first authority contract…

The laboratory performs no real contact, message send, document upload, learner-state sync, source fetch, model request, account mutation, or production promotion. Remote paths are deterministic simulations of purpose-bound capability decisions.

PRODUCT STRATEGY, NOT A PRIVACY CHECKBOX

Local-first changes product quality, economics, resilience, and trust.

The same architecture supports deeply different products because each keeps its own source and authority boundary.

VELURIS · PRIVATE SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE

Contextual dating help without exporting the person

Private preferences, rejection history, drafts, safety context, and Q-Lens plan comparison can stay local. Remote adapters refresh public events and venues with minimized fields. Consent still owns disclosure, introduction, contact, and sending.

AGENTIC AI GLOSSARY + LEARNING CENTER

Private adaptive learning under canonical doctrine

Learner goals, misconceptions, progress, notes, and explanation receipts remain local. Signed doctrine packs and public sources update through canonical IDs and migrations without rewriting historical learning evidence.

SAROS + VEIL

Useful offline intelligence with temporal truth

Saros can answer from a declared as-of evidence state and reconcile new sources later. Veil can calculate and explain locally while private questions and chart inputs stay on device.

VELLUCENT + LOGISTICS

Local protection, explicit enterprise boundaries

Vellucent can inspect confidential documents and protect meaning locally before any optional provider call. Logistics can keep evaluation and planning local while approved adapters own real source reads and actions.
